The Blistered Peppers Take:
What is remoulade you ask? It is essentially a dressing used for seafood or salad, or really anything you like it with!
Remoulade is typically made with a mayonnaise base.
BP is all about making do with what you got. So use this recipe as a guideline, but feel free to change things as needed. If you don’t want to measure things, and go off of taste preference, then wing it! If you don’t have capers, substitute them for pickles, or lemon juice for pickle juice.
Steps:
Using a small bowl, add the mayonnaise and mustard to start the remoulade base.
Add lemon juice, minced garlic (skin removed), chopped capers, and a bit of hot sauce.
Add seasonings: paprika, old bay seasoning, salt, cayenne pepper. Start with 1/4 tsp and then adjust as you see fit.
Mix well and enjoy!
We had the remoulade with a homemade shrimp boil. It was so easy and delicious. We even used the remoulade for the boiled potatoes to give them some extra flavor.
