made for the glutton,
food aficionado,
and amateur cook.

Hi BP family,

My name is Emma and this is my husband, Andrew. You may recognize him but he looks a little haggard here - could be a post-Netflix picture, who really knows. Let’s get to it: I’m a glutton, food aficionado, and amateur cook. When my mother met my father she was horrible in the kitchen. So as a “wedding gift” my father sent her to work in his best friend’s restaurant to learn to cook. The chef, Norbert, taught my mother everything he could… and then my mother taught me. And so I fell in love with cooking.

Shortly after my mother got remarried, my stepfather took us to Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas. It was my first fine-dining experience and it absolutely blew my mind. I still remember the texture and flavor of the creamy, buttery mashed potatoes to this day. And so I fell in love with dining.

When I met Andrew he didn’t eat bread - which included pasta, muffins, toast, corn (not sure how that was considered bread but OK!?) - or refined sugar. He never cooked, ate one meal a day, and it was typically at a diner or a really bad sushi spot… yes, I can say really bad because on our third date, he took me to his “favorite sushi” and within an hour I had food poisoning. I’ll spare you the details, but it got messy in my building lobby.

What I taught Andrew is what I hope BP can teach you.
To put it simply, I believe if you’ve eaten a bad meal, you’ve failed.
Food isn’t just about sustenance.
Food is an experience, an art, a therapy, a want, a need.
Most of all, food should be approachable.
We should all be mindful of our health, but can still find ways to indulge in what we love and to appreciate each and every bite.
Why do we run away from a recipe when we don’t have one ingredient?
BP is here to help you with substitutions, suggestions, dietary restrictions. Craving American, Indian, vegetarian, comfort, or fusion - we got you!

With BP, I hope to provide you with an easy approach to all things food. Check out Reviews for the perfect date night restaurant or hidden gem. Head over to Recipes for simple and delicious meals to make at home from savory to sweet.
