CI SIAMO

Ci Siamo is located in Hudson Yards, which many New Yorkers want to hate on because it feels forced but unbiasedly - it's a nice area and has a lot of great restaurants, Estiatorio Milos, Zou Zou’s, and many more. Now you just have to venture to the west side.

Danny Meyer is notorious for amazing restaurants, oftentimes Italian inspired, but with Chef Hillary Sterling (previously Vic’s) on his side Ci Siamo is a star amongst his restaurant collection. Ci Siamo opened late 2021 and to this day it is not easy to get a reservation… so you know what we’re going to say: Set those Resy notifications! It is perfect for a double date, or even a work dinner, the space is large but not crowded. They also have a great cocktail and wine list, which we know you’ll need for either of those two previously mentioned meetings. :)

Let’s cut to the chase, Ci Siamo is an Italian inspired restaurant working with seasonal ingredients and a wood-fired oven! With such a strong team behind the restaurant, it is worth a visit.

The Blistered Peppers Order:
Cast Iron Focaccia
Gnocco Fritto
Insalata Verde
Sungold Tomatoes (or the Saffron Marinated Cucumbers)
Rapini Agnolotti
Roasted Half-Chicken
Ribeye or Bistecca alla Fiorentina

CAST IRON FOCACCIA

This bread is out of this world. Freshly made, steaming as you tear it open, and served alongside tomato conserva which is packed with flavor. The bread itself reminded me of Felix’s focaccia in Los Angeles and it truly did not disappoint.

*Sungold Tomatoes: These tomatoes were a highlight. Ordered alongside the Insalata Verde, the sum of its parts better than the individual dishes.

BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA

Respect to how traditionally this is served, alongside olive oil and sea salt. Ci Siamo adds a twist with rosemary sea salt (it’s green!) and the flavor is spectacular. Typically I don’t like sous vide steak (I believe this was but don’t know for a fact) because I find it loses flavor. But this was an exception to the rule. Order it up!!!!

RAPINI AGNOLOTTI

As with most Danny Meyer restaurants, pasta is not to be skipped. Chef Hillary Sterling worked under my fav pasta maker of all time, Chef Missy Robbins - yes, the woman behind Misi. You can put two and two together… these pastas are TOP notch.
